Christian Ishimwe first got exposed to Gorilla Highlands Experts many years ago through a booklet predecessor of the Pocket Treasure. Impressed by the publication, he was excited to be invited to the 2024 All-Hands and joined the team. A cultural guide, Christian specialises in sharing the history, traditions and cultural significance at the Roots of Nyabingi Heritage Centre — a place he co-founded — and leads hikes around Rwanda’s twin lakes. In a previous life he studied IT and lived in Auroville, an experimental town in southern India, but now he is permanently home in Musanze, Rwanda. [bio updated: 2026-06]
