Tom Karemire was the famous proprietor of Tom’s Homestay on Habukomi Island (now called Provia’s). A former prison warden and security guard, he hosted hundreds of hikers over the decades, right on his family lawn on Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda. [bio updated: 2026-05]
