Lwiro in eastern DR Congo — some 50 km/30 mi north of Bukavu — is a remarkable village that serves as the site of the Centre for Research in Natural Science and the Lwiro Primate Rehabilitation Centre. The nearby trio of Tshibati waterfalls is the third attraction, actually located within Kahuzi-Biega National Park.
There may be no place within the Gorilla Highlands region that is as inspirational as Lwiro, and also beyond compare … A lovely guesthouse that belongs to the scientific team completes the picture.
