This text was written in 2007 by Noah Liberi. He was 20 at the time, his only formal education being a rural secondary school in Bukinda, Kabale. But he would read a lot and condense the wisdom of life, heavily influenced by The Alchemist, into the following paragraphs that open the story about Teach Inn Uganda that we will publish in weekly instalments. You can learn more about Teach Inn and Noah in yesterday’s Miha’s Blog.
. . . . . Magnificent, fabulous and fantastic . . . . .
This is not just a blog but a spontaneous act of generosity written by a young boy who leans towards the readers for the purpose of sharing something larger than himself. Somewhere and to some extent in this blog you are entitled to know how to embrace reality and yet achieve serenity and richer existence.
The lucidity of it all will mangle your preposterous attitudes towards life. You will recuperate from all the illness of irremediable compulsive exasperate inveterate invincible beliefs that life is a struggle rather than a challenge.
… Just read it – you will love it!
To understand the concept of life, one of course needs not to dance him/herself lame before the actual dance, neither does he need to jump on one leg for successful endeavours. One only must have the knowledge about the implications of the term bracketing in order to be successful in life.
Bracketing may simply mean the form of listening or relating to someone with complete awareness while fully giving off any pre-conceived conclusion, prejudice, ideas or beliefs or interacting with someone with a full empty mind to allow new ideas in.
However, a special note to everybody that will be reading this writing is that you will be able to stand a golden chance of enjoying every minute of the hour as long as you can understand what I mean by the statements below.
Self-realisation means that we have been consciously connected with our source of being; once we have made this connection then nothing can go wrong. For intention is a field of energy that flows invisibly beyond the reach of our normal, everyday habitual patterns. It is there even before our actual conception. So we have the means to attract this energy to us and experience life in an exciting new way.
Intention is really sudden immersion of the soul into the universal current of life where the histories of all people are connected and we are able to know everything because it’s all written there. Everything in the universe has intention built in it. This is true for all life forms, where it be a wildebeast, a rosebush or a mountain, intention lands everything for us.
There are only four obstacles in our lives to pursuing our personal legend:
1) From childhood we are told that everything is impossible so this is why we must think of tomorrow when even today has not reached half day.
2) In love we are afraid of hurting those around us by abandoning everything in pursuit of our dream.
3) A good population of people fear defeats and challenges that we will encounter on the path and never want to accept them. But who will ever advance if he does not accept the mistake, for one man’s game is never a game?
4) We must be prepared to have patience in difficult times and to know that the universe is conspiring in our favour, even though we may not understand how. The secret of life is to fall seven times and get up eight times. If you believe yourself worthy of the thing you fought so hard to get, then you become an instrument of God. You help the soul of the world and you understand why you are here. Whoever you are, or whatever it is that you do, when you really want something, it is because that desire originated in the soul of the universe. It is your mission on earth.
To realise one’s destiny is a person’s only real obligation. All things are one and also all people are one, only that we are differentiated by size, height, colour and environment plus IQ. And when you want something all the universe helps you achieve it.
There is a language in the world that everyone understands. It’s the world of enthusiasm of things accomplished with love and purpose and as part of a search for something believed in and desired.
Making a decision is only the beginning of things. When someone makes a decision, he is really diving into a strong current that will carry him/her to places that he never dreamt of when he first made the decision.
We are afraid of losing what we have, whether its our life or our possessions and property. But this fear evaporates when we understand that our life stories and the history of the world were written by the same hand. When you want something with all your heart, that is when you are closest to the soul of the world. It is always a positive force.
If you can concentrate only on the present, life will be a grand festival for you because life is the moment we are living right now. This is pretty antagonistic to the other mushy idea that life is what one makes it. For many have tried from time to time and haven’t realised their dreams, as circumstances exemplified by environment also determine us. And who would lie to a fellow that tomorrow never comes?! Your today is your tomorrow, as long as you really know what you wanted for the day and its success.
But don’t be impatient. If you push forward impulsively, you will fail to see the signs and omens left by God along your path. Every day is there to be lived or to mark one’s departure from this world. Everything depends on what it is.
Courage is the quality most essential to understand the language of the world. Listen to your heart for it knows all things because it came from the soul of the world and it will one day return there.
People are unfortunately afraid to pursue the most important dreams because they feel that they don’t deserve them or that they will be unable to achieve them. But when such fears arise in you, just tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself and that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams because every second of the search is a second’s encounter with God and eternity.
In simple terms, change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change.
