News About the Gorilla Highlands Spreads to Norway

Let’s face it – we are from a remote area somewhere in the middle of Africa, and making it a destination everyone knows about will not be quick or easy. But we will work on it, each and every day.

Last year our leading photographer Marcus Westberg wrote an article about the Gorilla Highlands for a Swedish magazine called Vagabond (see above) that has a Norwegian edition. This is how Petter Løken, a journalist from Norway, learned about us. He came for a visit in July and left full of impressions.

Last Saturday his newspaper Dagbladet printed the first story, “The Last Giants of Africa” about gorilla tracking, on four pages. Petter plans to devote the next article to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

And mind you, we are talking about Norway’s second largest tabloid newspaper, with about 100,000 copies printed!
