Eggs! Eggs!! Eggs!!!

📁

Let’s rewind to Christmas 2024 for a sec — remember what you were doing? Eating too much and dodging awkward family convos? Meanwhile, at Edirisa on Lake Bunyonyi we were on the edge of our seats.

Because on 23 December, drumroll please, 300 fluffy little layer chicks landed — all alive (imagine that!!!), all peeping, and absolutely smashing. That’s when our journey kicked off.

Serene Pleasure moved in with the chicks like some kind of feathery fairy godmother. She snuggled down beside them for a whole month, making sure they were cozy, safe, and generally living their best chick lives. Her heart? Positively bursting. And the way they ran to her every day? Straight out of a feel-good film.

Fast forward to yesterday, 18 May 2025 — just 4 months and 23 days later — and look at the miracle of life: we cracked open our first two eggs! Actual eggs! Cue all the smiles.

All this was made possible by our mates at Wheeling2help, the total legends from Greece and Cyprus. Thanks to them, the eggy magic is set to keep on giving — better nutrition for the kids at Bufuka Primary School and a future sustainable source of income for Lake Bunyonyi projects!

Buzzing with pride over here. You lot have hatched something seriously special. Bravo, everyone!

Wanna see our chicken farm yourselves? Always welcome, just announce your visit in advance!
