On the Way to the Total Guide

📁

Sunny greetings from Lake Bunyonyi, from The Heart of Edirisa, where we have entered September 2015 with a new Gorilla Highlands website. It will be under construction throughout the month as we, slowly by slowly, update and post online a lot of great content from our award-winning Interactive eBook. This is not for international guests only, not at all, as Ugandans will gain access to a deep resource about nature and culture.

Until some moments ago our website was very pretty (designed in England pro bono by Suzy Claridge of Design Original) but also static and optimised for desktop computers. By moving it to Customizr on WordPress we are losing some of the beauty but gaining much flexibility.

For years we have been using our Facebook page to post updates but now this website becomes central, with social networks supporting it.

Exciting times are ahead! Once we are satisfied with our coverage of southwestern Uganda, we will add Queen Elizabeth National Park and then Rwanda (already included in Gorilla Highlands Tours).

As we toil, let us never forget why we are doing this: to put a stunning part of Africa onto the global map and make sure the benefits from tourism reach local people. Not only financially – visitors are a source of pride and cultural self-respect!
