The Lufthansa magazine interview we mentioned in June has been translated into English for their website. It might be useful to ad some corrections and clarifications:

– permits for gorilla tracking in Uganda cost USD 600 (or USD 450 in November and April/May)
– it is very much possible to get an internal flight to and airstrip close to the gorilla national parks
– if you go by road from Kampala, there is a tarmac highway to all major towns; only the last hour or two will be on rougher roads
– Jiro Ose tracked gorillas in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park (during a Gorilla Highlands Press Trip)

Something in the interview is very true though – the biggest danger in Uganda is not malaria or any other disease but the traffic. We highly recommend getting a good driver, and can help you with that.
